The 2023 World Athletics Championships are fast approaching and one of the most thrilling races will be the women’s 100m and 200m races.
Defending champion Shelly-Anne Fraser-Pryce, World 200m champion Shericka Jackson and National Champion Sha’Carri Richardson will renew their rivalry and an interesting thing will be that they will be doubling in the 100m and 200m.

Titus Kipruto, Timothy Kiplagat, Joshua Belet, Bethwel Kipchumba, and Michael Githae will be lining up for the men’s marathon.
Jamaica has had the title since the 2019 World Championships courtesy of Fraser-Pryce who won back-to-back titles. However, the five-time World champion has since been battling an injury and has not been in her best form since the season started.
She has only competed in two 100m races and luckily managed to reign supreme in both. She opened her season at the Spitzen Leichathletik Luzern and two days later, went for the Meeting in Madrid. She clocked 10.82 in Luzern and later clocked 10.83 in Madrid.
In the 200m, she competed at the Jamaican Championships where she finished second behind Jackson. Fraser-Pryce will enjoy the company of Jackson, who has been in the form of her life so far this season.
Jackson has managed podium finishes in all outdoor races she has competed in. She has been to six Diamond League Meetings where she has managed to impress. She opened her season at the Meeting in Doha, Qatar where she finished second in the 100m.
The World 100m silver medallist then went for the Meeting in Rabat, Morocco where she won the 200m. She then competed in the 100m at the Bislett Games in Oslo where she finished third before finishing second at the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia.
She then headed to Monaco where she reigned supreme in the 200m before finishing third in the 100m at the Diamond League Meeting in London. Jackson is currently the fastest woman over the 100m in the world and she is a favourite to defend her 200m title and medal in the 100m.

She has won all the Diamond League Meetings she has been to including the Meetings in Doha, Qatar and Silesia, Poland. She has shown consistency in her performance and she will be looking to maintain the hot streak in Budapest.
However, she also faced a setback when she was forced to withdraw from the Diamond League Meeting in London due to a slight injury but she will be sure to show up at the World Championships competing in the 100m and 200m.
