Jamaican sprint sensation has shared the benefits of training with Sha'Carri Richardson months after joining the American's training group.

Rising sprint sensation Alana Reid seems to be enjoying training with reigning world 100m champion Sha’Carri Richardson.

The Jamaican joined Richardson’s training camp, Dennis Mitchell’s Star Athletics Track Club in Florida, late last year and has been improving day by day, thanks to her learning some tips from the American sprint star.

As reported by Track Alerts, the junior 100m record holder lauded Richardson for aiding her transition to her new training base. She disclosed that the presence of the two-time World Champion in the camp is very beneficial to her.

“It is a good feeling being around her (Richardson). She teaches me a lot and she shows me a lot of stuff. There are times when I will make a few errors, and she will put me aside and say whatever.

“But it’s not for me to come here and focus on anybody; it is to focus on myself and prepare myself to be better than who I am,” the Carifta Games U20 champion said.

At the moment, the youngster is focused on making the Jamaican national team to the Olympic Games and is currently working round the clock to make her dream come true.

“It has been okay so far because my main focus is for me to chase my dreams and stay and try to make the Olympic team this year.

“I have the World Under-20 Championships coming up, and my focus is also on that,” said the Jamaican who signed a professional contract with Nike last year.

In addition to Richardson, Alana also draws inspiration from Twanisha “Tee Tee” Terry.

“It has been a great experience training here because I have known Tee Tee Terry before I came here, so having her around to guide me helps me a lot,” she shared with the Jamaica Observer.
