John Korir, who ran a personal best time to claim victory at the Chicago Marathon, has revealed the secret to his dominant display.
John Korir's dominant display earned him a convincing victory in the men's Chicago marathon ahead of Ethiopia's Mohammed Esa and fellow Kenyan Amos Kipruto.
Korir clocked an amazing time of 2:02:43 as Esa timed 2:04:39 with Kipruto closing the podium with a time of 2:04:50.
The new Chicago Marathon champion was in class of his own as he broke from the rest of the pack on the hour and a half mark.
The Kenyan runner looked composed as he strode commfortably to claim victory, almost to minutes ahead of his peers.

John Korir, who set a new personal best time in a dominant victory at the 2024 Chicago Marathon, has explained how his big brother Wesley & the Kelvin Kiptum helped him make history.
Korir has reaveled the secret behind his dominant display, attributing it to a training regiment that his coach puts him through which he admits he doesn't like.
"There is a training coach gave me called 'Signature' where you run 3km and then 400m and you run 3km again and 400m again," said Korir via Citius Mag.
"It is hard but I enjoy running so its okay. I usually do that like 10 days before the marathon," he added.
“My training was good, and my coach Ron Mann told me I could run 2:02, and I believed him.”
Korir who made a decisive move at mile 20 went on ran the second-fastest time in the race’s history and his personal best.
The Marathon's second fastest man split from the group to surge ahead, and no one covered the move as he continued to pick up the pace.
