Nigerian teenage speedster wrote his name in the history books at a US college invitational meet.
Nigerian rising sprint sensation Joshua Caleb was one of the standout performers in the NCAA over the weekend after breaking the national and African U20 Records in the 60m.
A sophomore student at the University of Alaska-Anchorage, the 18-year-old sped to a blistering time of 6.57s to win the event on Friday night at the 2025 Nevada Silver and Blue Invitational.
By doing this, Caleb broke the 23-year-old Nigerian record of 6.66s set by Taiwo Ajibade in 2002 and also moved sixth on the world U20 all-time list.
Not resting on his oars, he was back in the 200m, storming to a sensational personal best of 20.85s for his second victory at the meet.
Caleb's performances were one of the most impressive in the US collegiate circuit and expectedly in the world.
The talented sprinter will be gunning to drop more brilliant and record-breaking times as the season progresses ahead of the NCAA Indoor Championships in March.
