The American confirmed her availability for the next Alexis Ohania's Athlos event but what is she up to currently?

Paris Olympics 100m hurdles champion Masai Russell is focussing on her mental fortitude during the offseason in a bid to be fully fresh and ready for a grueling 2025 season.

The US NCAA record holder in the 100m hurdles says breaking the collegiate record in the 60m as well as the outdoor 100m hurdles was a huge moment for her and the pair of achievements serve as a motivation to her in her bid to leave a lasting legacy.

While she is taking time off the track, the 24-year-old maintained that she can't afford to rest on her laurels, believing that victory in Paris was the beginning of better things to come. "The biggest thing that I'm focusing on during this off-season is to really just get my mind back in alignment, so I can have a fresh start and just propel for the season," Russell said via her X platform, formerly Twitter.

"I broke the collegiate record in the 60m hurdles and I broke it again in the outdoor 100m hurdles. It was really a moment for me."

Russell finished first at the 2024 US Olympic Trials in the 100m hurdles with a time of 12.25 (PB) to qualify her for the Paris show. She observed that she had to believe in her training methods, did it repetitively and finally the results were evident.

"I believed in what I was doing. I believed in the training and believed that it would work and I mean, it finally worked. I was like I could do this at a really high level," she pointed out.

At the same time, the American confirmed her availability for the next Alexis Ohania's Athlos event. "Yeah, I'll be in attendance for Athlos again, again, again and again."
