America steeplechase runner Kenneth Rooks is facing challenges after a severe fall in a race with ongoing concerns about his recovery and return.
Olympics 3000m steeplechase silver medalist Kenneth Rooks has been discharged from a hospital in Poland after enduring a dramatic fall during a Diamond League race in Silesia.
The 24-year-old American athlete encountered a setback when he tripped over a barrier on the fourth lap severely impacting his right shoulder.
Despite the fall, Rooks finished the race in 16th place with a time of 8:35.19, which was notably 19 seconds slower than his Olympic performance.

His agent, Ray Flynn, shared initial updates on the athlete's condition, which were later echoed by sports journalist Jonathan Gault, confirming the X-rays were negative.

"He’s coming home tomorrow. We'll get him checked out when he gets home, but it's reassuring to know the injuries aren't as severe as we feared."
