The men’s field this year has attracted some elite athletes including defending champion Evans Chebet.
World Marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge will be targeting the course record at the Boston Marathon set for Monday, April 17.

The Boston Marathon is scheduled for April 17.
In an interview with the NN Team, Kipchoge revealed he does want to become part of Boston's rich history.
"I'm on the right direction towards the Boston Marathon on April 17. The training sessions are going on well, especially the long runs on our 'Boston training route' have been good so far. I can't wait to take this challenge!
I just don't want to participate in the sixth Abbott World Marathon Major. I want to win it with a course record. It will be another milestone since I already have course records from the Tokyo, London and Berlin marathons," he said.
The Boston Marathon course record stands at 2:03:01, which Kenyan long-distance runner Geoffrey Mutai set in 2011.
Kipchoge will also have two other athletes who have won at the course before; defending champion Evans Chebet, the 2021 winner Benson Kipruto, and Ethiopian Lelisa Desisa, who won in 2013 and 2015.

2019 World Cross-country champion Joshua Cheptegei of Uganda also insisted on teamwork.
The 38-year-old's last marathon resulted in a new world record when he timed 2:01:09 in the Berlin Marathon back in September.
His main challenger Chebet stormed to victory at the Boston Marathon in April last year in 2:06:51 and the New York City Marathon in 2:08:41 in November.
