Kipngetich Ngeno has disclosed the type of relationship he shares with reigning World 800m silver medallist Emmanuel Wanyonyi.
Former World Under20 800m silver medallist Kipngetich Ngeno and reigning World Under20 800m champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi were the two youngsters who made the cut to the national team at last year’s World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Unfortunately, Ngeno was knocked out in the semifinal of the race while Wanyonyi fought his way to the final and bagged a silver medal, finishing in second behind Canada’s Marco Arop.

“At the moment, everyone is training on their own and we only get to meet maybe during Diamond League events and other major championships and plan on the way forward,” Ngeno said.

“There is a lot I will implement as I eye the Olympic Games national trials. Last year was a learning moment for me and I can admit that there was a lot in store for me. I’m working on my speed and endurance,” he said.
