Kipng'etich Ngeno has already set his targets for the African Games and certainly, his fans are in for a treat.
Former World Under-20 800m silver medallist Kipng’etich Ngeno has promised to bring back a gold medal from the African Games in Accra, Ghana.
Ngeno made the cut to the national team thanks to his prowess at the national trials that were held at the Nyayo National Stadium.
The former Africa Under-20 champion floored big wigs including Commonwealth Games 800m champion Wycliffe Kinyamal and Elias Ngeny among other great athletes.

ATHLETICS Finally! Eldoret City marathon relaunched with backing from woman representative Gladys Shollei
New dates have been confirmed for the 5th edition of the Eldoret City Marathon after it was postponed three times last year.
He won the 800m in style, crossing the finish line in 1:44.07 ahead of Aron Kemei who finished second in 1:44.24. Kinyamal completed the podium in 1:44.52 but missed out on a ticket to represent the country at the continental showpiece.

“At the African Games, I will have to go for a medal. During the semis at the national trials, my body was responding well and I was expecting to win the final,” Ngeno said.
He also extended a hand of gratitude to his coach and noted that currently, they are just working on his speed and everything will be well.

Tadesse has disclosed why he dedicated his Barcelona Marathon win to the late Kelvin Kiptum.
“I want to thank God for the win and also appreciate my coach for his assistance…for now, we are just doing speedwork and I know all will be well,” he said.
Ngeno has been off to a good start this season, claiming a win at the third Athletics Kenya weekend meet held at the Nyayo National Stadium.
He also finished second in the indoor 800m races at the Folksam GP Stockholm Indoor and Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais Trophée EDF. He was also in action at the National Cross-country Championships at the Prisons Staff Training College in Ruiru, finishing 15th in the senior men’s race.
