ATHLETICS List of stellar cast Omanyala will be up against at Botswana Golden Grand Prix
Omanyala will be lining up as the fastest in the field with a personal best time of 9.77, the African record time.
The 22-year-old will be looking to replicate last year’s performance or even perform much better this time round. During last year’s edition, Moraa settled for third-place which saw her set a new personal best time of 1:56.71.
USA’s Athing Mu and Great Britain’s Keely Hodgkinson took the first and second positions respectively.
“My coach will plan the races I will go to after Botswana but my main focus will be on the World Championships. I want to achieve a podium finish,” she said.
Moraa started off her season with the indoor tour that saw her post mixed results. She kickstarted her campaign at the Orlen Corpenicus Cup, a World Athletics Indoor Tour in Poland, where she managed to settle for fourth place in 2:01:51.
She then went for the World Athletics Meeting in Lievin, France and managed a second-place finish in 2:00.61. She concluded her tour at the World Indoor Tour in Madrid where she fizzled out to finish a disappointing eighth in 2:02.85.

“When I began my indoor tour, I had not trained well. However, at the moment my body is responding well and I am glad I have run some good times including the AK meet in Kisii. I am not at a bad place,” she said.
