Botswanan youngster Letsile Tebogo has beaten Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and 100m Hurdles world record holder Tobi Amusan to bag a prestigious continental award.
Reigning World 100m silver medallist Letsile Tebogo has beaten 100m Hurdles world record holder Tobi Amusan and Liverpool star Mohammed Salah to win the African Athlete of the Month of March award.
The news was announced by the Africa Sports Ventures Group which was formerly known as the Africa Athlete of the Month. Tebogo was voted for by the masses from the ASVG WhatsApp Channel and he certainly deserves the award.
The Botswanan youngster has started his season in style, clocking fast times and inspiring the young generation. He opened his 2024 with a world record in the 300m, running faster than Usain Bolt and Michael Johnson.

The 20-year-old then clocked a world-leading time in the 200m at the ASA Athletics Grand Prix 3, a Continental Tour Challenger. He clocked an impressive time of 19.94 to cross the finish line.
The World 200m bronze medallist then clocked a Personal Best time of 44.29 at the ASA Athletics Grand Prix 2, a world-leading time too. The youngster has now set eyes on the 200m at the Kip Keino Classic on Saturday, April 20.
