Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo maintained his great form when he made it back-to-back Diamond League wins in a week with victory in Silesia on Sunday.

Letsile Tebogo made it back-to-back wins in the Diamond League this week when he stormed to victory in Silesia, Poland on Sunday.

Going into the 200m race as the man to beat, the Botswana sprinter lived up to the billing, clocking a meeting record time of 19.83 seconds, ahead of Alexander Ogando (19.86) while American Kenny Bednarek was third in 20.00.

The Olympics champion is proving untouchable since winning gold at the Paris Games and the meeting in Poland was yet another example of his growing reputation.

Tebogo and Bednarek were renewing their rivalry since the Paris Olympics where he clocked 19.46, the fifth fastest of all-time, for a gold medal as Bednarek settled for silver in 19.62.

The American threatened to spoil his party as he was in the lead at the 60m mark but the 21-year-old stormed forward in the final stretch to claim victory.

It was, however, a slower race than what was witnessed on Thursday when Tebogo clocked 19.64 for victory in Lausanne.
