World 100m silver medallist Letsile Tebogo has insisted on being left out of the world record talks as the build-up to the Olympic Games in Paris, France intensifies.
The world 200m bronze medallist explained that having such goals makes people have expectations on an athlete and when he/she fails to achieve such, people will always have something to say.

An epic showdown awaits Africa's fastest man in Jamaica as he is set to go up against a formidable field that includes Noah Lyles and Zharnel Hughes among other top sprinters.
“That’s why I don’t want to be part of it. I have told them not to expect much from me and we shall just do our level best,” Tebogo said during a post-race interview at the USTAF Los Angeles Grand Prix.
The double World Under-20 champion finished second in the 100m, clocking 10.13 to cross the finish line behind Kyree King who won the race in 10.11. Aaron Brown completed the podium, clocking 10.23 to cross the finish line.
Speaking about his performance, Tebogo noted that he has been doing more of the 400m races and is slowly adjusting to the 100m now.
He explained that going forward, the team will be keen on improving his 100m and 200m technique as he looks forward to competing at the Prefontaine Classic, the Diamond League Meeting in Eugene.

“The race was quite a good race since we have been doing the 400m for quite some time, so it’s just getting the momentum and the legs running again. We are going for the Prefontaine Classic over the weekend and see the outcome,” he said.
