The teenager has set the world a blaze and is tipped to follow in the footsteps of his idol in becoming a global icon

Schoolboy Nickecoy Bramwell  has said he is looking forward to the new season after he shattered Usain Bolt's 22-year-old record in May.

Bramwell broke the eight-time Olympic gold medalist's world record in the Under-17 400m by 0.07 seconds, a result that left the entire world in shock.

Now the prodigy has come out guns blazing that he wants to pick up from where he left early this year. "I'm looking forward to better things," he told talk sport when quizzed on what he is up to.

Bolt set a time of 47.33 seconds  in 400m in the event 22 years ago. He said he was happy to break his idol's record and will hope to pick up the baton despite missing out on the Paris Olympics.

"It's a wonderful feeling to break the record. Since last summer, I have been eyeing the record," he said. "So it's a great feeling I could come out here and get it. I just took my mind off it and focused on the record."
