The City manager has reiterated the goalkeeper's importance to the side, revealing that they have no intention of releasing the player despite offers
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that offers came in for City's main goalkeeper Ederson during the summer transfer window.
The Spaniard has disclosed that he was worried about Ederson leaving during the transfer window, admitting that he was fearful.
"Of course I was worried about Ederson leaving! He’s an important figure in our team. We're lucky to have him". said Guardiola via City Xtra as per Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
"Hopefully he’s happy. Always you prepare, you never know what happens, whether players want to leave or not."
The tactician revealed that the offers that came in for Ederson were turned down because they didn't meet expectation.

According to reports, Manchester United owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has met with Thomas Tuchel for the managerial position.
"We didn't want Ederson to leave in the summer. A real offer didn't come. Well, they 've made an offer but the keeper for the team who won four Premier Leagues in a row has a price," said the City boss
"Otherwise he can't leave! And that's what basically happened."
The Brazilian international who has spent seven years in England, collecting six Premier League titles announced back in August that he wanted to spend more years with the Etihad faithful.
“It’s over. I spoke with some players, the coach, director, everyone. I talked to my family and it was a joint decision. We’ll stay more years at City. The media says many things, sometimes inventing a little more. But I’ve already decided my future, especially after the conversation I had with Guardiola. This season, I’m totally focused at City with my team-mates in search of more titles," he told ESPN Brazil at the time.
