Otieno shared the news of his newborn son in a post on his Facebook page, expressing his excitement to have welcomed the bundle of joy.
In the post, he said: “Tuesday, Jan 16th, 2024, my world changed for the better. My son was born, and he has my whole heart plus more. Truly, my God Is a God of restoration. He Is to be trusted.”

In a recent interview, Otieno opened up on how the birth of his son was a life-changing moment for him. With the significant change, he acknowledges that he has to put in more effort to ensure he provides the best for his child.

“I have really yearned and looked forward to that baby coming and we knew the due date…he is my pride and joy.
“He is really encouraging me to push myself day in and day out, especially in this Olympic year. I’m not taking any races lightly since I want to secure a bright future for myself and my family,” Otieno added.
He explained that during the time he served his doping ban, he had a great community around him and it was one of the best things that worked for him. Financially, he admitted that it was something that was challenging but somehow they managed to push through.
“I had a strong community and that’s one thing that kept me well during my doping ban. People kept on checking on me and the financial aspect was a bit challenging.
“Getting money for transport to go for training was quite tough. However, I think having a great community around was everything that mattered to me the most.
