Mary Moraa was all smiles, as she crossed the finish line and got a surprise gift from one of her diehard fans.
Reigning Commonwealth Games 800m champion Mary Moraa expressed excitement after a fan surprised her with a gift at the finish line of her 400m race.
Moraa was competing in the one-lap race at the third Athletics Kenya meet where she clocked 51.97 to cross the finish line first.
As soon as she crossed the line, a fan ran to her and handed her a portrait of herself. Moraa was over the moon as she jumped up in joy to showcase her joy.

In a post-race interview, the reigning World Champion: “I’m very happy to have received this gift. It means a lot to me because I have never received such a gift from anyone.”
She further expressed her gratitude, sharing the photos on her Facebook page and captioned it: “What a lovely day! Won the women's 400m final in season's best 51.97 at the Third Athletics Kenya Track and Meeting and also got a gift from a fan, Kelvin Opero. Quite humbling. Thank you, all your support and prayers. Love you all and see you in the next meet.”
Meanwhile, Moraa also explained that she is just getting started and her body is responding well to training.
