World 800m champion Mary Moraa has gifted sprinter Esther Mbagari a pair of spikes ahead of the African Games national trials starting on Tuesday.
As she handed over the spikes to the trailblazing sprinter, Moraa lauded her for the resilience she possesses and her hard-working nature.

Former world champions Janeth Jepkosgei and Abel Kirui have dismissed those writing off Eliud Kipchoge following his 10th place finish at the Tokyo Marathon.
Kisii Express also admitted that she had never come across a female sprinter like Mbagari, who will be vying for a ticket to the African Games. If she makes the cut, the event will be her first international event representing the country.

Meanwhile, Mbagari has managed to establish herself as one of the 100m great sprinters, thanks to her prowess and mastery of the discipline.
This season, the sprinting sensation has been on fire, clocking impressive times and flooring oldies in the 100m and 200m races.
She has made frequent appearances in the AK track and field weekend meets and in her recent outing, the third weekend meet at the Nyayo National Stadium, she was unbeaten.

Tons of invited athletes will be seeking to impress the crowds at the African Games national trials to be held at the Nyayo National Stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Mbagari won both the 100m and 200m races and shows no signs of stopping anytime soon. During the second AK weekend meet at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, Mbagari won the 200m but finished second in the 100m.
On her part, Moraa has already decided on the events she will compete in during the trials. She thanked her fans for helping her make the decision, posting on her Facebook page saying.
“Bwakire pals. Welcome to the African Games trials starting this morning. Thank you for your valuable advice. Will be doing 400m and 4x400m. Kujeni kwa wingi.”
