“My focus now is on the National Police Service Championships and I want to gauge my fitness. You know we produce some of the best sprinters and so it will be a great chance to test my speed.
I am trying to push and see if I can beat the qualifying time at the national trials so I can compete in Budapest,” she told Nation Sport.
The qualifying time for women’s 100m is 11.08, and so far, Safania has managed to run 11.80. She will have to put in extra effort if she is to make the cut to the global show.
She added that she is the female version of Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala and within no time, people will see her exploits.
