World U20 Champion Alana Reid has reportedly left Star Athletics Club to join Hurdle Mechanics in Arkansas.
Rising Jamaican sprint sensation Alana Reid has reportedly dumped Sha'Carri Richardson training group Star Athletics, to join Hurdle Mechanics based at the University of Arkansas.
Reid made a shocking move in October 2023 to start training under the guidance of Richardson's coach Dennis Mitchell, at the Florida-based Star Athletics Track Club.
In one year of working with the respected coach, the 19-year-old won the 100m and 4x100m at the World U20 Championships in Lima last year and ran a season's best time of 11.06s.
Also, she competed in the 4x100m relay at the Paris 2024 Olympics as part of the Jamaican team that placed fifth overall.
If reports are true, Reid will join a talented and experienced group at Hurdles Mechanics that has Paris Olympics medallists such as Alexis Holmes, Amber Anning, Anna Cockrell, and fellow Jamaican star sprinters Ackera Nugent and Nickisha Pryce.
