An Irish journalist saw the wrath of Nigerians on Twitter after trying to bully Tobi Amusan into answering questions on her whereabouts clearance.
Nigerian athletics fans on Twitter showed no mercy to an Irish journalist who tried to bully Tobi Amusan into answering questions on her Anti Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) clearance.
Amusan, after qualifying in her heat race, which she conveniently won in 12.48s to qualify for the semifinal, was granting interviews in the mixed zone when the journalist asked to clarify the reasons that led to her whereabouts violation charges.
A displeased Amusan in response, said "I'm talking about my fans here, you're talking about charges. What charges?"
While the journalist was still adamant about getting an answer, the World Record (WR) holder looked at the name on his tag and gave him a final answer.
"Mr Cathal, I ain't goin' to answer your question. You've asked me the same question about five times now, I'm not answering. Thank you."
The journalist's behaviour got Nigerian fans on Twitter riled up, and they had to put him in his place. Here are some reactions below.
