Triple world champion Noah Lyles has officially qualified for the men’s 100m at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games following his majestic run at the USATF Olympic trials.
The American sprint king, competing in the final of the race, clocked an impressive 9.83 as Kenny Bednarek and Fred Kerley finished second and third, clocking respective personal best times of 9.87 and 9.88.
World indoor 60m champion Christian Coleman finished fourth to miss out on the global showpiece in the men’s 100m and he will be seeking a slot in the 200m. High Schooler Christian Miller finished fifth in the race, clocking 9.98.

The three-time world 200m champion started his Olympic campaign on a high note, clocking 9.92 to win his heat before stamping authority in the semifinal of the race where he clocked 9.80 before winning the final to seal a ticket to the global showpiece. The job is not done yet since he has the 200m to compete in as he keeps his quadruple dream alive.
Meanwhile, Lyles has been off to a great start to his season, beginning with the indoor campaign where he bagged a silver medal in the 60m and propelled the 4x400m relay team to a silver medal.
In the 100m, Lyles only lost once, to Jamaican sprinting ace Oblique Seville at the Racers Grand Prix where he finished second. He bagged wins at the Bermuda Grand Prix, Tom Jones Memorial, and the US Olympic trials.
In the 200m, Lyles has only competed once, at the USATF New York City Grand Prix where he won the race. At the trials, Lyles will be competing in his second 200m race starting with the heats.
Meanwhile, Bednarek has also been in great form this season and he holds the fastest time in the world over the 200m so far this year. Proving a point in the 100m gives him confidence ahead of the 200m.
Meanwhile, Kerley, the Olympic 100m silver medallist has been through a couple of challenges this season, and bouncing back to make the Olympic team is a morale booster ahead of the upcoming assignments.
