Two-time world 200m champion Noah Lyles has shared a collection of four photos that were a highlight of his weekend at the Atlanta City Games.
Triple world champion Noah Lyles has shared four photos that made the highlight of his weekend at the Atlanta City Games on Sunday, May 19.
Lyles, who was competing in the 150m at the event, managed to clock an American record of 14.41, missing out on Usain Bolt’s world record of 14.35 by 0.06 seconds. Great Britain’s Zharnel Hughes finished second in a time of 14.66 as Alexander Ogando completed the podium, stopping the clock in 14.86.
With the time he clocked, the two-time world 200m champion feels like he is at a better place to break Bolt’s world records and run closer to 9.6 in the 100m.
“My win here means I’m going to run faster than any other year, I mean, Tyson Gay is a 9.69 runner so in my head I’m ready to run a 9.6 because I had a great start and in the first two steps it felt like I had everybody and in the fifth and sixth step I was clear of everybody and when we were about 50m to go, I was already out,” Lyles said in an interview after the race.
