American speedster Noah Lyles has momentous goals, one of which is to shatter Usain Bolt's World Record in the 200m.
World 200m champion Noah Lyles has revealed his goals of breaking Usain Bolt's World Record (WR) of 19.19s at the upcoming World Championships in Budapest.
Lyles took to his Instagram page posting a picture with "I will run 9.65s, 19.10s," which meant the times he's tageting to accomplish at the World Championships.
Then he captioned it with a statement talking about his dreams.
"They say if they don't know your dreams, then they can't shoot them down. But I have always been more of a guy who loves to hear the screams from heaters, got a nice ring to it," wrote Lyles.
If the American speedster is able to run 9.65s in the 100m, he will become the second-fastest man in history behind Bolt's WR of 9.58s and the new American record holder. While in the 200m, his 19.10s goal will obliterate Bolt's WR clocked at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin.
Lyle's lifetime best in the 200m is 19.31s - the third-fastest time ever, just behind Bolt's WR and Yohan Blake's 19.26s. And in the 100m, he has an all-time best of 9.86s.
This season, he has a moderate 9.94s but stands as the world leader in the 200m with 19.47s, making him the best contender for the world title in Budapest.
