The trials will allow NSSF to select its contingent for the 2023 World School Athletics Championship.
The Second Nigeria School Sport Federation (NSSF) will begin the trials for the 2023 World School Athletics championships on Wednesday at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The trials are scheduled for January 18 and 19 to give NSSF the opportunity to its contingent for the 2023 World School Athletics Championships.
The 2023 World School Athletics Championships will be held in Turkey.

The President of NSSF, Olabisi Joseph, said they will be expecting students from all the states in the country to participate in the trials.
She added that the decision to stage the tournament in Ogun state was part of the federation’s plan to give the tournament more national recognition.
NSSF First female President said she hopes the trials will help to get talents that will win medals at the World School Athletics Championships.
“The maiden edition was hosted in Lagos, and we saw the outcome with the performance of Ronke Akanbi won the first gold medal for Nigeria at an ISF-organised event, and we hope we can win more medals at this year’s event.
“We must thank the Ogun State government for their decision to accept to host us and we are excited that we will be staging this year’s edition in the state that will host the next National Sports Festival.
“We are expecting students across the country to be part of the trials because we want to allow Nigerian students the opportunity to make the team, and we are hopeful that more athletes will turn up this year for the trials,” she said.
The young athletes will compete in Three categories, U-12 for primary school, U-15 for junior secondary school, and U-18 for senior secondary school students will compete in 64 events at the MKO Abiola Stadium.
