Prestina Ochonogor and Justina Eyakpobeyan booked their final spots in their respective events at the World U20 Championships in Lima.

Paris 2024 Olympians Prestina Ochonogor and Justina Eyakpobeyan will begin medal hunt for Nigeria after sealing final berths in their respective events at the ongoing World U20 Championships in Lima, Peru.

Ochonogogor continued with her brilliant form from the Olympics, where she was among the Nigerian trio who made history by becoming finalists in the women's long jump event.

She dropped another top performance in her qualifying round with a distance of 6.28m (-0.6) on her second attempt in group A to lock her final position.

The 18-year-old is one of the favourites to claim a medal in Lima, which will be Nigeria's first since Esther Aghatise won a bronze medal in 2002.
