The youngster obliterated a strong field to win the Under-20 100m final.
Africa's fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala has lauded his younger brother, Isaac Omurwa for making his Team Kenya debut in the 100m.
Omurwa was among the youngsters who participated in the second Athletics Kenya meet which was also used as the trials for the East Africa Under-20 and Under-18 Athletics Championships slated for March 10-11 in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania
The youngster obliterated a strong field of athletes to win the Under-20 100m final and automatically book a slot for the event.
“Papa must be proud of his sons. Congrats baby brother for making your first Under-20 national team. The future is bright. I can see it runs in the family. Isaac Omurwa go show them what you got,” Omanyala posted on Twitter.
In a recent interview, Omurwa revealed that the AK meeting was his first competitive race and he was happy to win. He added that he does his training at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
Going to Dar-es-Salaam, he said he was going for nothing but a win. “I am just going for a win…at the moment, I am not focusing on the time I will post. I started training in January and I’m happy with the results.”
