Commonwealth Games 100m champion Ferdinand Omanyala’s mental status has taken a nosedive after his underwhelming performance during the recently concluded World Athletics Championships held in Budapest, Hungary in August.
This is according to his coach Duncan Ayiemba, who revealed that Omanyala decided to take a break from social media activities to recharge his batteries after failing to get on the podium much to the disappointment of everyone who had been rooting for him.

Ferdinand Omanyala drops to second in Diamond League Meeting standings after Xiamen showpiece
Omanyala has been to four Diamond League Meetings so far and his focus is now on the Meeting in Eugene, USA.
Tebogo, Hughes, and Seville ended up taking second, third, and fourth respectively. The United States' Christian Coleman finished fifth at 9.92 seconds.
Omanyala had to be content with a seventh-place finish, which has resulted in the 26-year-old going mute on his social media pages.

“He had high hopes of a medal in Budapest. Every Kenyan had high hopes and everyone supported him,” Ayiemba told Nation Sport.
“However, everything did not go as planned and that affected his mentality,” he added.
