Over 2000 women set for Ogun Women Run

The Ogun Women Run will flag off on Saturday at Sapon and wrap up at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.

The Ogun Women Run's organizers, Brussels Sports Management Limited, have revealed that no less than 2000 Women across the state will participate in the race.

Pulse Sports reported that the Ogun Women Run will flag off on Saturday, July 8, at Sapon and wrap up at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta.

The Race Director, Ebidowei Oweifie, revealed this at the Media Parley organized by the Ogun State Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in Abeokuta on Friday.

Oweifie added that Ladies between the ages of 18 and 60 who have registered and are certified to take part will be on the beautiful streets of Abeokuta to sweat it out for the top prize.

He said, "As a team, we are committed to getting better, the feedback we got after the first edition was top-notch, being a first-of-its-kind event in the Gateway State, the people fell in love with the initiative."

The winner of the race will go home with Five Hundred Thousand Naira, while the First and second runner-ups are scheduled to receive Three hundred and Two Hundred Thousand naira, respectively.

Recall that during the first edition, Olude Kehinde Ajoke emerged victorious after getting to the finish line of the five-kilometer in Twenty minutes and four seconds.
