Women's high jump
Temitope Adesina was the sole representative in this event, and could only manage a clearance of 1.88m to finish 19th overall - only the top 12 performers qualified for the final.
Women's 100m heats
Rosemary Chukwuma did well enough to secure a semi-final spot after clocking 11.26s(1.0) to finish third, while Tima Godbless ran 11.33s in her heat and did not advance.
Women's Discus throw
Ashley Anumba kicked things off for Nigeria in this event with a best of 58.83m. Chioma Onyekwere threw the farthest with 60.78m, while Obiageri Amaechi only managed one legal throw of 45.45m.

Mixed 4x400m relay team
The quartet of Samuel Ogazi, Ella Onojuvwevwo, Ifeanyi Ojeli, and Patience George missed the final by just one spot after finishing ninth overall, but the solace is in the fact that they clocked a new National Record of 3:11.99.
Men's Shot Put qualification
Chukwuebuka Enekwechi qualified as Nigeria's first finalist after he finished in ninth place overall with a best mark of 21.13m.
