Ofili made the final of the women's 200m after finishing first in the heats and second in the quarterfinal.

However, the star girl narrowly missed out on winning a medal in the 200-metre final in a very tight race.

She succumbed to the supremacy of the USA's Gabby Thomas, who won her first individual Olympic gold medal.

She could only finish in sixth place with a time of 22.24 after making a lot of effort to get into the top three.

After the race, she was seen in a video, which was shared on X, shedding tears and being consoled by people around her.

In the video, she was also heard saying she was sorry repeatedly as she fell into the arms of one of the women for comfort.

The emotions displayed by Ofili led one of the women comforting her and urging the Nigerian Olympic Committee to improve their support for athletes.

Grace Adams Iliya shared on X, "Please, we need to be there for these athletes always, @NigeriaOlympic, someone has to always be in the mixed zone. I was the only one there for #favourofili, she tried her best.”

Disappointment filled the heart of the sprinter as her hope of winning any medals was dashed at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
