Favour Ofili will not compete in the women's 100m event, while Temitope Adeshina bowed out in the high jump qualifying round.

Favour Ofili's hopes of competing in the women's 100m event at Paris 2024 Olympics was dashed after her name didn't appear on the startlist of those competing.

The Nigerian speed sensation made a public appeal following the AFN and NOC's failure to enter her in the event despite hitting the qualifying standard and claiming the Nigerian title.

Sadly, her appeal was declined and she'll now focus on the 200m event, which she also qualified for by hitting the standard,

This means Nigeria's only representatives in the women's 100m event will be Rosemary Chukwuma and Tima Godbless, and they'll be gunning to make the semifinals in their various heats.

Rosemary Chukwuma is one of Nigeria's representative in the women's 100m event

Meanwhile, Nigeria's only representative in the women's high jump event Temitope Adeshina crashed out in the qualifying round with a best effort of 1.88m.

Temitope Adeshina is a student athlete at Texas Tech University

Her mark was 19th overall and isn't among the top 12 finishers to make the final.
