Tebogo beats Lyles to claim gold
Tebogo made history for Botswana by winning the country's first-ever Olympic gold in the 200m dominating the race, leading around the curve before powering through the final stretch to finish with a time of 19.46 seconds.

U.S. sprinter Kenny Bednarek followed closely behind Tebogo, securing the silver medal with a time of 19.62 seconds ahead of compatriot Lyles.

Reason behind Lyles' struggles uncovered
Shortly after the race, it was revealed that Noah Lyles had been competing while battling COVID-19. Sources close to the situation disclosed that Lyles had tested positive for the virus before the race but chose to run despite his condition.
