Rainbow nation South Africa continues to set the pace for African teams at the Paris 2024 Olympics after adding another impressive medal.

South African sprinter Akani Simbine led his team to a silver medal in the men's 4x100m relay final at the Paris 2024 Olympics, setting a new African record in the process.

In a nail-biting race, Canada, anchored by the talented Andre De Grasse, crossed the line first in a season's best time of 37.50 seconds, clinching the gold medal. 

But it was Simbine who praised fellow African Letsile Tebogo and the South African team who stole the show, clocking a remarkable 37.57 seconds to secure the silver medal.

The bronze medal went to Great Britain, who finished in 37.61 seconds.

This was a momentous occasion for Simbine, who had long been seeking a global medal. The South African sprinter, known for his blistering pace, finally got to taste the joy of standing on the podium, much to the delight of his fans back home.

The men's 4x100m relay final was a true showcase of world-class sprinting, with several nations battling it out for the coveted medals.

While the United States team was disqualified, the performances of Canada, South Africa, and Great Britain were the highlight of the event.

As the South African team celebrated their historic achievement, the nation's fans erupted in joy, knowing that Simbine and his teammates had brought home another medal for the country.
