Sha'Carri Richardson and Julien Alfred dropped bold performances in the women's 100m heats to announce their readiness for Paris 2024 Olympic title.

World's fastest woman Sha'Carri Richardson began her Paris 2024 Olympic outing in dazzling form after easily qualifying in her women's 100m heats as Julien Alfred also blazed to an impressive time.

Competing in heat 1, Richardson won in floating style to cross the finish line in an easy 10.94s far ahead of Patrizia Van Der Weken in 11.14s, while Australia's Bree Masters was third in 11.26s to make the semifinals.

Richardson's performance will then lead a host of other heat winners to go sub-11s, having medal favourite Alfred also win her heat in an easy blistering time of 10.95s.

New Zealand's Zoe Hobbs picked the right time to clock a Season's Best (SB) of 11.08s to place second, while Italian star Zaynab Dosso picked the last automatic spot in 11.30s.

Julien Alfred

Richardson and Alfred are top favourites for the Olympic title, and with the early form they've both shown, surely the semifinals and final will be firecrackers to watch out for on Day 3.
