Sha'Carri Richardson found a journalist's question on her past a bit unnecessary and awkward, following her blazing victory in her 100m heat at Paris 2024 Olympics.

In the wake of her 100m opening victory at Paris 2024 Olympics, Sha'Carri Richardson shut down a bullish journalist who tried to bring back her past disappointment of missing the Tokyo 2021 Games.

The world's fastest woman marking her Olympic debut, won her 100m heat race in a floating time of 10.94s to qualify for the semifinals, thus closing off as one of the fastest qualifiers in the event.

Following her brilliant performance, Richardson stopped by to be interviewed by journalists as she made her way out of the track.

When asked about her performance in her opening race, an excited Richardson said: "I've been having fun. So this is definitely the biggest stage to compete at, I'm having fun."

A female journalist will then chip in to ask about her Tokyo 2021 disappointment and the changes she has made through the years to compete in Paris, which Richardson found a bit unnecessary.

"Standing here, while we're talking about Paris here today, here in Paris, we're not talking about the past, we're talking about what is happening right now. And so I'm happy to be here and I'm having a lot of fun right now and you're going to continue to watch as well."

Richardson will be competing against a stacked field in the semifinals that includes veterans Marie Josee Ta Lou-Smith and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, as the trio will be gunning to secure a final spot.
