With less than 10 days before the start of athletics at the Paris 2024 Olympic games, Tobi Amusan will lead a number of Nigerian athletes as medal hopefuls in athletics.
The Nigerian contingent is a formidable youthful team, and they're scheduled to compete in nine respective events in the men's and women's categories, including the mixed 4x400m.
While the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) opened the team camp in Germany, some of these athletes have been fine-tuning their preparations in the USA and Europe to have a memorable outing, and their performances have given a glimpse of what to expect in Paris.

Ese Brume (women's long jump)
Despite having a rollercoaster season that has seen her not hit the top marks of being a certified medal contender, Ese Brume's consistency of being a championship performer and delivering when it matters most rates her highly on this list.

She was Nigeria's sole track and field medallist at Tokyo 2021 with a bronze medal, and she can't be written off to make the same impact in Paris.
With successive African Games and African championships titles this season, Brume will have to produce her best performance this year and perhaps above the 7.00m mark to be guaranteed of making history as Nigeria's first two-time individual Olympic gold medallist.

In the relays, Nigeria qualified in four out of five events, which are: women's and men's 4x100m, men's 4x400m, and mixed 4x400m.
The mixed 4x400m is Nigeria's best chance of medalling in the relays as the representatives have produced impressive performances this season and a team capable of challenging for a medal.

Spearheaded by veterans Chidi Okezie and Patience George, plus NCAA standouts Samuel Ogazi and Ella Onojuvwevwo, as well as other talented athletes from the pool, they're capable of improving on their African Record of 3:12.87 and can therefore earn a medal.
