Paris Olympics: Julien Alfred, Gabby Thomas & Brittany Brown coast through 200m to set up exciting final.

Gabby Thomas, Julien Alfred and Brittany Brown dominate their semi-finals to make 200m final of Paris 2024 Olympic games.

Julien Alfred, Gabby Thomas and Brittany Brown won their respective semi-finals of the 200m at the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympic games to set up an intriguing final which will take place on Wednesday night.

Gabi Thomas sailed through semi-final two easily, ahead of Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith, who had to contend with a second place finish but after Thomas created a considerable lead in the final 50 meters.

Asher-Smith got off the blocks brilliantly, but lost her groove in the curve, allowing Thomas to take control,  and in the end, got through second on 22.31

In heat one, Alfred sailed through in 21.98 seconds, with Nigeria’s Favour Ofili sealing the other slot on 22.05.

Alfred got off the blocks perfectly and executed the curve to perfection, before maintaining her speed endurance in the last 100 meters to claim the win.

America’s  McKenzie Long  also sealed the final qualifying spot as having finished third in the group.

Brittany Brown won the third semi final on 22.12, finishing ahead of Neita who got through second on 22.24, with Ivory Coast’s Jessika Gbai qualifying as the best third-placed finisher.
