Former World Under-20 1500m champion Purity Chepkirui was welcomed home in a fashionable way after her exploits on the international stage.
The Form Three student at Tiloa Mixed Secondary School marked milestones this year, competing in Diamond League Meetings and making her senior category debut at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
Chepkirui suffered an injury setback this season but she has managed to compete in a couple of races before jetting back home as she gears up for the Olympic Games in Paris, France next year.
As a late addition to Team Kenya for the World Championships in Budapest, Chepkirui finished seventh in the Heats and failed to proceed to the semifinal of the event.
She went to the Diamond League Meeting in Xiamen and finished 11th before pacing at the Meeting in Brussels.
