NCAA Preview of Nigerian athletes competing this weekend

A lot of Nigerian NCAA athletes are scheduled to compete this weekend at various meets in US colleges.

Several Nigerian NCAA athletes areexpected to compete for their various schools this weekend as they continue preparations ahead of their Conference and NCAA Indoor Championships.

Here's a compilation of different meets across US colleges and the athletes that will be competing there.

Music City Challenge

Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) will be without the presence of poster boy Alaba Akintola.

However, Esther Isa is listed in the women's high jump, where she will hope to improve on her indoor Personal Best (PB) of 1.84m set two weeks ago.

Benjamin Onyekwelu in the men's long jump, and Stephen Eloji in the 200m.

Joy Nwokike of Eastern Kentucky University will compete in the 60m, while James Onwuka of Penn State University is Nigeria's sole representative in the men's 400m.

Wind City Invitational

Standford's record holder in all sprint events indoors and outdoors, Udodi Onwuzurike, will do a double in the 60m and 200m.

Onwuzurike will aim to break his SRs of 6.61s and 20.61s in both events respectively.

Tiger Paw Invitational

Baylor University's duo of Imaobong Uko and Ezekiel Nathaniel, are making a return to the track after two weeks off, competing in the 400m.

Favour Ashe and Abasiano Akpan of Auburn University, will also make a return competing in the 60m and 400m respectively.

University of Texas Ezinne Abba will be going for the double in the 60m and 200m.

Dubem Amene of the University of Michigan will make his season's debut in the 400m.

Clemson's Mercy Ntia-Obong will also compete in the double in the 60m and 200m.

Tyson Invitational

Louisiana State University's trio of Favour Ofili (60m and 200m), Ella Onojuvwevwo (400m), and Godson Brume (60m and 200m) are entered in these events at the meet.

They will be gunning for new PBs in their events, building on the brilliant momentum with which they started the season.
