The Manchester United stars could not hide their joy after watching the Red Devils supporter run a dominant race to win Olympics gold at the expense of Kenya’s Mary Moraa.
Manchester United stars Marcus Rashford and Mason Mount have expressed their delight at seeing Keely Hodgkinson emerge Olympics champion in the 800m.
Hodgkinson ran a dominant race to win Olympics gold in 1:56.72 on Monday with Ethiopian Diguma Tsige (1:57.15) claiming silver as Kenya’s Mary Moraa clocked 1:57.42 for bronze.
It was a great tactical race for the 22-year-old who timed her race to perfection, taking off in the final 100m to floor world champion Moraa who had been considered favourite.

“Hi Keely, very well done for winning a gold medal, everyone is proud of you and also thanks for the support,” said Rashford.
“Yes Keely, I just want to say a massive congratulations on winning the gold medal. You absolutely smashed it and made everyone very proud,” Mount said.
Hodgkinson is a Manchester native who was born and bred in the Atherton area and has supported United since she was a child.
