Nigerian athletes have started the 2024 season on impressive notes, with triple jumper Ruth Usoro leading the park on Saturday.
Usoro leaped a respectable distance of 13.89m to win the triple jump event at the Texas Tech Corky Classic, and the mark stands as the second-best in the world this year behind Neja Filipic's 13.90m.
In the women's 200m event, Success Umukoro of Texas Tech ran a lifetime best of 23.49s to finish sixth overall, while Ella Onojuvwevwo of Louisiana State University also clocked a personal best of 23.91s and helped her school to win the 4x400m event.
