Sha'Carri Richardson has sent a stark warning to her rivals after she qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games alongside her training mates Melissa Jefferson and Twanisha Terry.

Reigning world 100m champion Sha’Carri Richardson has fired warning shots to Shericka Jackson, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Julien Alfred and Co after qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games during the USATF Olympic trials at the Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.

Richardson started her campaign by winning the heats of the women’s 100m, clocking 10.88 to cross the finish line before impressing in the semifinal, winning in 10.86.

She then shut down the whole stadium with a world leading time of 10.71 to win the final of the race ahead of her training mates Melissa Jefferson and Twanisha Terry who finished second and third in respective times of 10.80 and 10.89.

The American has insisted that the world already knew what the trio was capable of but the podium sweep is an ideal confirmation that should send shockwaves to the athletics world. In training, Richardson admitted that they have been putting in the work and it has finally paid off well.

“I feel like we have already done that…these trials have not only shown what we have been preparing with our coach dream machine Dennis Mitchell as well as our assistant coach Sharie Lewis but we also knew this moment could be possible as long as we put our minds, our bodies as well as our spirit into it.

“Today with every single one of us as well as the team and the support system that we all have, building up each other, we knew that this was possible and we got the job done. We didn’t put the world on notice, the world already knew who we were,” Richardson boldly said in a press conference after the race.

She added that they have been able to push each other to the top through holding everyone accountable for their actions and ensuring they encourage each other through tough times.

The 24-year-old also noted that the trio also taps into each other’s strengths and validates that, something that builds their confidence as athletes.

“We have those uncomfortable conversations as well, to just hold each other accountable and we have those building conversations where we complement each other’s strength but we also have conversations about each other’s weaknesses and how we can build up on those.

“I feel like we are able to sit here because we can also hold each other accountable and we talk to each about anything,” she added.
