Following the official end of the 2024 season and the beginning of a new year, US sprint queens Sha'Carri Richardson and Gabby Thomas led a key stat ahead of fellow Olympic champions Julien Alfred and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone.

The pair were one of the standout performers and shone at the Paris Olympic Games by winning individual medals and as part of Team USA's 4x100m gold medal-winning team.

Their Olympic outings' summed by Thomas claiming three gold medals (200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m) and Richardson with 100m silver medal behind the heroics of Saint Luicia's Alfred, were just some of their highlights that rounded off an outstanding year.

Another accomplishment was the pair topping with the fastest time of the Top 10 Fastest Women in 2024.

Richardson's 10.71s to win the US Olympic trials in Eugene, made her the world leader, while Alfred takes the second spot with her Olympic title-winning time of 10.72s.

NCAA standout Jacious Sears had a remarkable time of 10.77s to finish third, ahead of Paris bronze medallist Melissa Jefferson in 10.80s, while Jamaica's Shericka Jackson completed the Top 5 list with 10.84s.

Others to complete the Top 10 are: Tia Clayton (6th - 10.86s), Marie Josee Ta Lou-Smith (7th - 10.87s), Aleia Hobbs (8th - 10.88s), Rosemary Chukwuma (8th - 10.88s), and Dina Asher-Smith (8th - 10.88s).

Top 10 Fastest Women in 2024

In the 200m, Thomas was the undisputed queen of the event, sitting pretty on top with her 21.78s for victory at the US Olympic trials. Another US college standout McKenzie Long clocked 21.83s as second-fastest, ahead of Alfred's Paris silver medal-winning time of 21.86s.

ATHLOS winner Brittany Brown is fourth on the list with 21.90s, while Richardson's time of 21.92s sits her in the Top 5 of the event.

Others to complete the Top 10 are: Abby Steiner (6th - 22.03s), Favour Ofili (7th - 22.05s), McLaughlin-Levrone (8th - 22.07s), Asher-Smith (8th - 22.07s) and JaMeesia Ford (10th - 22.08s).
