World champion Sha'Carri Richardson will begin her 2024 Diamond League campaign in Xiamen.
World's fastest woman Sha'Carri Richardson is in high spirit after being listed to face a respectable field in her Diamond League season's debut in Xiamen on April 20.
The American track will compete in the 200m event and will hope a respectable outing will officially set the tone for the rest of the year ahead of her first Olympic Games in Paris.
Richardson's competitors in the field are training partner Twanisha Terry, Bahamian sprint star Athonique Strachan, US rivals Tamara Clark, Kayla White, Anavia Battle, Caisja Chandler, former world 60m champion Kambudji Mujinga, and Shanti Veronica Pereira.
Last year, the 24-year-old kicked off her Diamond League in Doha, where she won in an outstanding 10.76s to announce her comeback - a season she will end up winning the world title in Budapest.

Sha'Carri Richardson: 5 Challenges American sprinter overcame to become one of the world's fastest women
Sha'Carri Richardson's recent success in 2023 is no fluke, she's doing what she has always promised to do. But to get to this stage, Richardson had to overcome five challenges and now she says she's 'back and better'.
Her successful comeback 2023 season now highly rates her as the fastest woman in the world and one of the top favourites to become the Olympic champion.
Choosing to compete in the 200m in Xiamen can only mean Richardson is gunning to get better in the event and challenge for the 100m and 200m titles in Paris just like her Jamaican rivals Shericka Jackson and Elaine Thompson-Herah.
