Sha'Carri Richardson has called for athletes meeting, centered around the exploitation of her colleagues in the US.
Sprints sensation Sha'Carri Richardson is on a mission to stop the exploitation of athletes, especially in the US.
Richardson, who will be competing at the US trials from July 5th - 9th in a bid to make the team to the World Championships to Budapest, released an Instagram video proposing a strategic meeting.
The meeting will be between athletes, especially those coming for the trials, and discuss major decisions made on their behalf without athletes having a say.
"...If you as an athlete has an issue with the things that are going on within track and field in the United States, the changes that are going on, the decisions that are being made, everything that we as athletes has no say on," she said.
"Not knowing who to turn, not knowing who to complain to, I just want to drop a link for an idea for all of us to come together and actually sit down,
"And actually come up with a strategy as athletes to create a voice for ourselves and create an actual organization to what we know that is going to impact and build us as athletes and to build our sport in the United States and not just continue to exploit us."

Her initiative comes from a series of complaints and controversies surrounding the trials, as athletes have been complaining about the sudden increase in the cost of flight tickets, accommodation, feeding, transportation in Oregon.
