Reigning world 100m champion Richardson has already set the record straight and predicted an amazing season. In a post on her Instagram stories, Richardson said: “2024…Thankful in advance.”

The American took some time off social media to celebrate the festive season and has made a comeback, ready to stun her opponents one more time.

Richardson had an amazing 2023 season that saw her end the campaign as the fastest woman in the world. She achieved the feat after clocking 10.65 to win the 100m race at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

She also finished third in the 200m at the Hungarian capital, clocking 21.92 to complete the podium. The race was won by Shericka Jackson in a championship record as Gabriel Thomas finished second.

Richardson also competed in a series of Diamond League Meetings that saw her win the opening leg of the series in Doha, Qatar before winning the legs in Silesia and Zurich.

She ended her season the Prefontaine Classic, the Diamond League Meeting final, with a fourth-place finish in the 100m.

Going to the Olympic Games will be a memorable moment for Richardson since she narrowly missed out on the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games due to a doping ban.
