Long nails are always a bit of a hustle for many women but world 100m champion Sha'Carri Richardson loves them that way and has shared the motivation behind them.

The world’s fastest woman in 2023, Sha’Carri Richardson has shared the motivation behind her long and colorful nails as she builds up for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Many women find it uncomfortable staying with long nails but Richardson is very much unbothered because she loves the vibes her long nails take to the track.

Just like the Jamaicans with their colorful wigs, the 24-year-old has also found her identity in having long nails and she rocks them in the most iconic ways just like the late Florence Griffith-Joyner did.

In a recent interview with KSL Sports, Richardson said: “I feel like I want to bring beauty to the track. I want to be beautiful just like I am here when I’m living life and handling my business.”

Meanwhile, Richardson will also look to make a strong comeback when she lines up for the women’s 100m and 200m races at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The American had qualified for the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics but unfortunately had to withdraw due to an anti-doping rule violation.

“It’s still like slowly, slowly sinking in because when I look in the mirror, I’m just like, ‘You are a world champion. You deserve that. You’ve worked for that,'” Richardson said of Paris 2024, as quoted by KSL Sports.

She has been off to a slow start to her season but is seeking a comeback at the Prefontaine Classic, the Diamond League Meeting in Eugene scheduled for Saturday, May 25.

The World 200m bronze medallist opened her season with a second-place finish at the Diamond League Meeting series opener in Xiamen. She was beaten by Australia’s 19-year-old Torrie Lewis who took the top honours in style.

Richardson then proceeded to the meeting in Suzhou/Shanghai, where she finished third in the 200m. The race was won by Great Britain’s Daryll Neita with another American Anavia Battle finishing second.
