Sha'Carri Richardson's teammate 'TeeTee' Terry has explained the reason behind Netflix's Sprint docuseries was premiered just four months after the first season.

Sha'Carri Ricardson's teammate Twanisha ‘TeeTee’ Terry has explained why Netflix’s Sprint docuseries was premiered on a peculiar date, November 13.

The Sprint docuseries has attracted a lot of criticism with a lot of athletes and track and field fans expressing their disappointment about how the series turned out. Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo slammed the organisers for focusing on American athletes.

The Inside Lane host Lillz has also raised concern about why the Sprint docuseries was aired just four months after Season 1. She opined that they could have at least waited for next year, weeks or even days before the 2025 World Championships.

“Why was Season 2 of SPRINT released four months after Season 1 anyway? Wouldn’t it have made more sense to release in July/August before World Championships, to engage the very fans you claimed to have made this for? What was the rush?” she asked on her X (Twitter) handle.

In reply to her question, ‘TeeTee’ Terry explained that the producers revealed that since they were using most content from the Paris Olympic Games, they had no choice but to make sure the series is released as soon as possible.

“We were told that since they were using Olympic content they had a deadline of Nov 13th,” she wrote.

“No ma’am, just that was a deadline for them I guess to be eligible to use the footage. I didn’t ask any further questions lol based of season 1, I’ve learned to take what they say with a grain of salt.”

The second season of the Sprint docuseries features a number of American runners with Noah Lyles being the headliner. Two-time world 200m champion Shericka Jackson and Olympic 100m silver medallist Kishane Thompson were also featured.

Olympic 100m champion Julien Alfred and Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo also made the cut in the second season.
