ATHLETICS Doubts rock Peres Jepchirchir's participation in Sunday's New York City Marathon
Peres Jepchirchir is unsure of competing in Sunday's New York City Marathon due to a calf injury she encountered during training.
As a debutant, Lokedi put up a good fight to win last year’s New York City Marathon in 2:23:23 and she returns this year with sweet memories of the course.
“I visualise mostly the finish line and the start…then midpoint where I’ll take a couple of stops where everybody is cheering you on and you can’t think of anything else, you’re just excited.
Crossing that finish line is also a great feeling despite being tired. This year I hope (depending on how it goes), I’ll have my mum at the end. That is the most exciting part I am looking forward to,” Lokedi said.
